Hello and welcome to Bridge and Body Mobile Massage Therapy. I'm Jamie and I've been a dedicated licensed massage therapist for 6 years here in Portland. I believe that the best massages start with deep listening, both to your words and your body's signals. Together we will build a treatment plan that reduces chronic tension and pain and supports nervous system regulation while honoring your boundaries and autonomy. My work is often described as intentional, focused and deeply calming. I am especially skilled in deep tissue work, relaxation massage, trauma informed touch and chronic pain management. Let's create a treatment and maintenance plan designed to help you address old tension patterns, manage chronic pain, knock out a stubborn knot or simply support relaxation.

Working with me you can expect consistency, deep listening and respect.

What to expect

Safety first

Your safety and comfort are my top priority. Any technique or modality that wouldn't be safe for you will be avoided, your pressure preference will be honored, and past injuries or sensitive areas will be considered and accounted for.

Booking

After clicking book now, you can expect to be redirected to my booking software  on PocketSuite.com, after you choose a session type and available day and time, a confirmation along with an invitation to complete the required intake and consent forms will be sent to your email. It is important to complete these forms prior to our appointment to ensure all of our time is used effectively once your session begins.

What I Bring

I provide all necessary supplies and tools including fragrance free lotions, massage table, music and linens. if you have any special requests or accommodation needs don't hesitate to let me know.

Intake

Before we begin our session we will have a 5 - 10 minute conversation about what techniques and focus areas you want your session to highlight, what your goals are and any medical conditions or preferences to consider.

But what do I wear ?

Since you will be properly draped in cozy warm sheets for the duration of the massage, you are welcome to undress to your comfort level. That can range from fully dressed to fully undressed.

What do I have to provide ?

All that you need to provide is an open space of about 8x10 feet for the massage table as well as access to a bathroom for me to wash my hands and give you privacy while you undress and get comfortable on the table. If you would like the use of the table-warming mat or hot stones, there will need to be an outlet nearby.

Is it rude to be chatty or ask for no talking ?

Creating a safe and comfortable space for you could mean very little or no talking or it could mean more chatting. As long as the conversation is appropriate and helps you stay relaxed, it is totally fine. If you prefer to minimize talking to sink deeply into your body, that is ok too.

To tip or not to tip ?

While gratuities in addition to your service fee are always appreciated, they are never required. I have intentionally built my pricing structure to account for my time and effort in providing your service. I would always prefer a returning client, a referral or an honest online review over a monetary tip.

Frequently asked questions

what is cupping ?

If you have had limited experience with massage therapy or only ever had 60-minute sessions, you might be curious if an extended session is right for you. If you find yourself feeling like your focus areas didn't get enough attention, or like there is never enough time in an hour to fully relax into a full body massage, a 90-minute session might be right for you. If your goal is deep, meditative relaxation, or your body feels receptive to intense restoration with deep tissue techniques, then a 120-minute session might be right for you. Remember, we can always adapt to what your body can receive in a longer session by taking extra time on less intense areas to take a step back while you integrate the work.

Still not sure? You can begin with adding 15 minutes to a session during your appointment when my schedule allows to see if the extended time is right for you.

Therapeutic cupping refers to a tool used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for over 2,000 years. You will commonly find acupuncturists and licensed massage therapists using these tools. These cups can be made of hard plastic with a hand pump, soft silicone, or glass. The suction created by the cups pulls oxygen rich blood into the superficial tissue, and lifts muscle and fascia away from the underlying structures often aiding in tension relief. When applied they create a warm, tingly, lifting or stretching sensation, but they should never cause pain. Common after effects of cupping can include skin sensitivity and light red to dark purple marks that resemble bruises. These will fade within 3 to 12 days. You should avoid swimming in public pools or natural bodies of water 24 hours after cupping to avoid skin irritation. People who are not good candidates for cupping include those with thin or broken skin, clotting disorders or autoimmune conditions that cause extremely sensitive skin.
